Looking back on an inspiring Gem Kwartaalupdate

Thank you to the more than 100 participants who joined us yesterday for the second Gem Kwartaalupdate! We looked ahead to the future of digital public services with Gem, shared knowledge and experiences, and there were no fewer than eight live demos on the latest developments with Gem. Here is a look back, with photos.
So what happened yesterday?
After the opening by Nicolette Faneyte (Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, BZK), State Secretary Eric van der Burg (BZK) took the floor. He shared his vision on the responsible use of AI within government with real passion, and said with a smile that he is happy to call himself an ambassador for Gem for all 342 municipalities and the three special municipalities in the Caribbean Netherlands. He called on all municipalities to join Gem.
Next came a demo of the digitally accessible trial setup of Gem (IDA). And an interview about the development of Gem.
We looked back on Q2 and concluded: an extraordinary amount has happened with Gem!
A fine moment was the congratulations to the municipality of Utrecht, the first municipality to take a certified, digitally accessible version of Gem live.
We also launched virtuelegemeenteassistent.nl, the new central website for everything around Gem.
After the break, those present got to know the latest Gem developments through demos: answer quality, GPT-NL, the AI Knowledge Base, Kennishubs, making appointments with Gem, the new website and, as a bonus: SpraakMakers.
After a plenary close, it was time for drinks together in summer temperatures.
