Finding inspiration at the Gem Kwartaalupdate

Coming up this Thursday at the Gem Kwartaalupdate

This Thursday 9 July is the day: the second Gem Kwartaalupdate.

State Secretary Eric van der Burg opens the afternoon with his vision on the responsible use of AI within government. After that we will bring you up to date with demos on a range of Gem themes.

Discover the demos of 9 July

  1. Digital accessibility: how do people with a disability experience the digital accessibility of Gem? In this demo we share the experiences of five panel members and show how their findings led to concrete improvements in Gem.
  2. A grip on answer quality: how do you know whether AI is giving good answers? Here we show how Gem assesses language models using exams and quality criteria. That is how we keep improving answer quality and keep a grip on reliability.
  3. Make an appointment with Gem: we want residents to be able to simply say through Gem: "I'd like to make an appointment for tomorrow". In this demo, discover how generative AI can make appointments more personal and more user-friendly for municipalities.
  4. AI Knowledge Bases: find answers faster in your own policies, procedures and other organisational sources. In this demo we show how AI Knowledge Bases help organisations put AI to use safely and practically.
  5. Go-live of the Gem website: Gem is getting its own website. That means one central place with news, background information, documentation and information for municipalities that want to connect to Gem. On Thursday we will tell you more about it.
  6. GPT-NL: hear the latest news about GPT-NL, the Dutch language model built around transparency, responsible use of data and digital sovereignty. Discover how we are testing and applying GPT-NL within Gem.
  7. Kennishubs: no big tech, but a say over your own working environment. Discover how Kennishubs cleverly combines documents and AI in a single secure, sovereign working environment. Ask questions of your own documents, automate routine tasks and keep a grip on your own data.
  8. Spraakmakers: see how two AI systems communicate with each other without human intervention. Discover how this test setup can speed up processes, and what possibilities and points of attention it brings for government.
